Welcome
Guist Parish Council currently has 6 members, all of whom live in Guist and represent the village on various matters. Currently, there is a vacancy. If you would be interested in joining the parish council, please do get in touch with the clerk.
We are the third tier of local government, the other two being Norfolk County Council and Breckland District Council. We meet at 7.00pm at least four times a year at the Church in Guist. The public are very welcome to attend and we encourage people to speak on matters on the agenda during the open forum which is part of each formal meeting.
Any issues residents would like to discuss should be directed to the clerk, so they can be included on the agenda. We discuss varying issues which affect the community.
We also make comments on all planning applications as a consultee, although the District Council or County Council make the decision. We regularly discuss issues such as local roads and supporting local groups. We also invite speakers to our meetings to hear about Local Development Framework and Community Policing.
If you are interested in Guist, why not come along to one of our meetings.
